Responsibilities in current role
Sourcing, making and managing growth equity investments in consumer/retail companies.

Favorite thing about your role
I love meeting passionate entrepreneurs and hearing about how they founded and built their company – they always inspire me and make the job fun! I spend a lot of time with beauty and personal care companies so the free sample products don’t hurt either!

Most challenging thing about your role
One of the things I love most is the autonomy and independence in my role – it means I have a lot of say over how I spend my time. The flip side is that I need to make sure I am spending my time in the most productive way possible, which is also the most challenging thing to do: effective prioritization and time allocation.

Mistakes on the job / tough lessons learned
Letting the little things stress me out too much.

Most valuable piece of advice
People, people, people! Who you work with usually has the biggest impact on your happiness – so make sure you work with people you like. Also, try to work at a company whose values are aligned with your values. The actual work you’re doing is important but the culture of the organization is perhaps even more important for your happiness and your success.

Invaluable tool that you use everyday
I’m a total Excel junkie.
